A new Satio firmware is out; the R1CA037 is already available for download at the official Sony Ericsson website and we can expect to see results about the effectiveness of the update soon.

For those who are not familiar, the Sony Ericsson Satio got pulled out of shelves from both Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse due to a lot of major firmware issues. The symptoms of the problem were quite varied, ranging from slowdowns, to crashing, to power-downs and even losing ringtones.

This was a major problem for Sony Ericsson, who recently had to shut down several offices within the United Sates and a couple of facilities worldwide (one in India, another in Sweden). The company had hopes that the Satio and Aino would boost sales during the holiday season and the pull out of one of the devices could not have been at a worse time.

This problem grew worse when unconfirmed rumors of the Aino spread after reports that the unit was suffering from problems. Fortunately for Sony Ericsson, the Aino problems were either easily manageable or the rumor simply was not true. Spokespersons from Sony Ericsson and Carphone Warehouse have both confirmed that the device is still on schedule for its release date.

Back to the Satio, many people are hoping that the new update on the Sony website will finally bring their mobile devices back in working order; and who would not want that? The Symbian S60 mobile phone is a pretty impressive device (sans firmware problems) and works great as a media player too.

The current firmware update is specifically for owners of unbranded units that are having error problems. One user has reported that the patch made the phone work faster. This is a good indication that the firmware is working (slowdowns were among the problems reported), but whether this update actually fixes all the problems still remains to be seen.

Scott Hooton, Phones 4u trading director said: “Phones 4u are pleased to confirm that all Sony Ericsson Satio stock has been flashed with new software and recommenced trading on Saturday 4th December. Sales of the Satio were strong over the weekend and we’re confident that the device will continue to perform strongly throughout the Christmas trading period.”

So it looks like Sony Ericsson staff will be getting their Christmas party after all. Phew.

Has anyone of you tried of using any of these phones? Which of course two of them are one of the hottest phones that has ever made specifically by the experts of Sony Ericsson and Apple Company? The phones which were talking about right now are the Sony Ericsson Satio and the iPhone 3G S. At the time of writing, iPhone 3G S has just been released whereas Sony Ericsson Satio is scheduled to be released in Sept 2009. iPhone 3G S is currently hot in the market today and they are being owned by thousands of people around the world as you can see them putting out their phones and do some texting, not only that, through entertainment also. But there are things that both of these phones have I common, and the things are their pros and cons. We could determine them right now on their pros and cons which are at present both in iPhone 3G S and the Sony Ericsson Satio.

First of all, when it comes to camera, it was Sony Ericsson Satio who has the advantage over iPhone 3G S; because Sony Ericsson Satio is the first ever phone which has a whopping 12 MP camera compared to iPhone 3G S’s only 3 MP, which determines the quality your shots every moment you capture. The second thing we determine is the launch of applications and the web browsing, which of course, iPhone 3G S has the advantage because its speed is twice faster than any other phones existed right now, when launching applications and web browsing in the internet. The third one which is the entertainment, which composed of music, games, and other software, which of course iPhone 3G S has the advantage because it is lot more entertaining and with its huge 32 GB memory, you can store up to thousands of videos, songs and games you downloaded on the internet, rather than Sony Ericsson Satio which only have few features in entertainment, and also no match to iPhone 3G S’s huge 32 MB internal memory. The things that are in common for them are SMS, calls, organizers and design. When it comes to connectivity, iPhone usually has more features and speedy rather than Sony Ericsson Satio, even though this phone has modem, Bluetooth technology, synchronization, USB mass storage, USB support, built-in wifi, TV out and Pictbridge, iPhone 3G S’s speed is too much for Sony Ericsson Satio.

Now we know what are their pros and cons and to think that the buyer must choose the right phone, it depends you know? Either he wants the iPhone 3G S or the Sony Ericsson Satio, or even both of them, still these phones are meant to be used for fun, entertainment, and the most important thing, the communication.

Sony Ericsson has officially launched a new mobile named Sony Ericsson Satio and Ericsson claims that it has the best camera ever on a mobile device. This phone was initially known as Idou at the early production stages of the device.. Satio provides access to all multimedia in one place, just go directly to your favourite feature with the help of their standby panels and you will be able to access them. Satio is a milestone for the future development of mobile entertainment in your hands. This smart phone supports 3.5-inch wide screen and a 12.1 megapixel camera. The features also includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity, it also supports 8 GB of microSD card. The 12.1 megapixel camera is an autofocus camera with features like Xenon flash, capabilities like face detection and smile detection, geo-tagging of photos and 12x digital zoom. Other features are red eye reduction, bestpic, image stabilizer, photo feeds; send to web. It also has features like torch focus, video light and video recording. The camera also has an intuitive touch focus. The 3.5-inch wide touch screen has a true 16:9 quality format. It is sharp, wide, and vivid. The touch screen felt responsive, making the menus joyful, attractive and easy to navigate. It also has a Play Now arena which provides a full range of mobile entertainment available with the help of dual download i.e. on your personal computer as well as on your mobile sets. The media interface also has plenty of resemblance with the XMB bars seen on PS3 and PSP. With such mobile sets in hand one can enjoy any kind of entertainment anytime and anywhere. It has two versions supporting European GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSDPA 2100 networks and an AT&T version supporting GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100 frequencies.

The size of new Satio is 112×55x13.3 mm, with a weight of 126 grams. This Satio phone is available in three attractive colours – Black, Silver, and Bordeaux. The main screen has 16,777,216 colours with a resolution of 640×360 pixels. It also has an internal memory of 128 MB, with external expandable memory up-to 8 GB. It has a Symbian S60 5th Edition, but the interface is still reminiscent. The Satio comes with YouTube, Facebook, and Picasa apps built in with some upcoming developments like integration with social networking sites, such as Twitter. A smart phone always has multimedia features attached with it. Sony Ericsson’s Satio has features like PlayNow and TrackID. In the music section it has features like album art, Bluetooth stereo and music player. Satio has a GPS system integrated in itself with Google Maps. The web section of this smart phone includes WebKit web browser, bookmarks, web feeds and many more. In the category of communications, with features like call list, speaker phone, vibrating alerts it also has the feature of video calling, i.e. this phone supports 3G services. The messaging option of this phone includes conversations, emails, exchange active sync, handwriting recognitions, instant messaging, on screen QWERTY keyboard, picture messaging (MMS), predictive text inputs, sound recorders, text messaging (SMS).

Talking about the design of this phone, it has an auto rotate facility with gesture control. This phone also supports wallpaper animations. The entertainment category includes HD and 3D games, face book applications, FM radios with RDS, java, video streaming, video viewing, and YouTube. An important feature of this phone is the connectivity feature. The connectivity feature includes Bluetooth technology, modem, pictbridge, and facility of synchronisation, TV out, USB mass storage, USB support and an in-built Wi-Fi. The organiser in Satio is same as that of other smart Sony Ericsson phones. Another important device attached in this phone is location based device. It has a GPS system with integrated Google maps and turn by turn navigation facility. Satio puts the future of mobile entertainment in the palm of your hand. You can watch your favourite movies on the bus or catch up with your TV shows while on your lunch break thanks to new Sony-Ericsson Satio. The expert says that Satio might be just the best camera phone but it lacks the iphone’s touch screen. Instead of making more on business grounds Ericsson’s eyed on mobile entertainment. The operating system under this is slightly mysterious as it will be a new open source for Series 60; this phone is a compact replacement. This features a unique home screen user interface and provides fast access to the users who really love to enjoy music, watching pictures or videos.

The Satio is expected to come in select markets in early Q4 of 2009 with availability in three colours: black, silver, Bordeaux. With Sony Ericsson Satio, one can get ultimate multimedia experience; feast you eyes on movies, TV serials and videos. Even the sharing has gone so easy with the new mobile. Form factor for this phone is candy bar. Sony Ericsson will be launching this phone in October this year. In order to make your listening experiences better the Satio has the smallest headsets on the market. The wireless Stereo headphones HBH-IS800 is available with the crystal clear sound. Even the user can maximise their video experience with the video viewing stand IM920. There is no news about the price of this set. The Ericsson’s keep hiding it. But, one thing is sure if someone is looking towards buying it, he should start saving for it now as it won’t become cheap. This is an absolute bucket load of media features and more connectivity that you can shake a stick at certainly makes it a tempting package. This phone is expecting its release this autumn. This phone has focussed on entertainment, gaming and multimedia, i.e. all comes in a single package. Now, the wait is on, people are showing lot of interest towards buying this, just waiting for its launch this autumn.

Sony Ericsson recently announced a couple of new phones and one of them is the Sony Ericsson Satio.
